Testing VrayForC4D for skin shader in Cinema 4D
Cinema 4D still doesn't have a nice skin shader which can compete with MentalRay or Vray in Maya and 3DSMax.
Here is a skin shader test with VrayForC4D plugin, which currently has some "not so perfect but nice" SSS features.

Cinematic: Singularity: Cause and Effect Trailer
I've worked on this cinematic as a character modeler, hi poly sculpted the busts of the main character and soldiers. Also sculpted all the head morphs for the melting soldier.
Highly recommend to watch it in HD.
